The Word in Words book group at St. Bartholomew’s is reading “The Boys in the Boat” this month and will meet to discuss it at 7:30 p.m. Monday, August 14, in the Brooks Room. The nonfiction work is about the 1936 Olympics in Germany and the U.S. rowing team. For August, the group has chosen “The Nightingale” by Kristen Hannah, a bestseller about the resistance movement in World War II France.
“We are a lively group who read mostly fiction, chosen by our members,” says Molly Mitchell, who can be contacted at email@example.com if you have questions. The group meets the second Monday of every month.
